Kalpana begins with a deep blue hide and ends differently every time. The celestial detail is painted on by hand. Stars, scatter, the suggestion of a sky no one else owns. No reference image. No template. I paint until the piece tells me to stop. Kalpana means imagination. The peplum is the body. The painting is the work.
