The structure
Heavy brass buckles at the front. Lacing at the back. Sutra means a thread, or a principle. Both are here.
Sutra closes in two ways. Heavy brass buckles at the front, set in pairs, fastened by hand, fixed once and left. Lacing at the back, drawn through grommets, pulled to the body. The buckles set the principle. The lacing carries the thread. Sutra means both. Either reading of the name is in the piece.
